Brandywine Community Library

Location: Topton, Pennsylvania

Client: Brandywine Community Library

Scope of Project: The Brandywine Community Library was operating in approx. 1,700 s.f. of lower level space in a building on the campus of The Lutheran Home of Topton, Topton, PA.  Muhlenberg Greene Architects worked with the Library staff and The Lutheran Home of Topton to relocate the library to the first floor of the “Old Main” building on the campus.  The planning and design process included an analysis of the existing use and furnishings of the library and a master plan study of proposed expansion alternatives.

The result was a new library operating in 4,100 s.f.  The new layout provides for a separated administrative / office area, a children’s area with tiered reading platform, a young adults section, reference area with 6 computer stations, reading areas, a new circulation desk, and a group activities room.
